Financial Update

Our main expenditures are the Newsletter, the cost of maintaining the website and the production of leaflets when needed.  The two former we hope you feel are justified and are a good way of keeping you all informed.  The more members we get on email the less we have to spend on stationery etc., so please keep us informed of any changed circumstances.

The Association appeals to all residents of our now extended Conservation Area who are not currently members to join as this would greatly strengthen our ability to protect the local environment.  Apart from very exceptional cases, the Association, which is a registered charity, is entirely funded by its members.  It is essential to have funds in the bank to meet any unexpected expenses that crop up from time to time.  Membership forms are issued in the Autumn newsletter but can always be downloaded for the website.  All new members are most welcome.

Gift Aid – A Plea and A Thank You!
Are you a taxpayer?  If so, we would like your help!  When completing your membership form (enclosed with the Autumn newsletter or printable from the Membership page of the website) we would very much appreciate you taking a moment to complete the Gift Aid Declaration on the reverse if you are eligible.  Being a charity, this allows us to reclaim the tax portion of your membership subscription, giving a valuable boost to our funds.

Our subscription fees may be small, but reclaiming the tax on them makes a big difference.  Although the income tax rate has been reduced from 6 April 2008 there will be a transitional relief period of 3 years for Charities which means we will continue to be able to claim back 28p in every pound donated.

If you have subscribed in the past but have not previously completed the declaration it’s not too late – simply ticking a box on the declaration allows you to Gift Aid all past (from April 2000) and future subscriptions.

Many thanks for your help and the difference it makes to the Association.
